My Story
My Story: Samantha Tana
I’ve gone through a lot throughout my life ever since the sixth grade. I was born and raised in Hamilton, New Jersey; I lived there from being born there to the age of 13. I met all of my friends there, had most of family there, and I made some of the best memories there. Middle school was probably the years (next to my high school years) that I had the most fun and will always remember. I got close to a lot of people and I still am with a few of them. A little over half way of eighth grade, my parents told my brother and I that we were moving in the summer. I was so upset because I didn’t want to move away from family and my friends. I was dreading the end of eighth grade and so were my friends. Just thinking about starting off high school not knowing anyone was a nightmare. When the time came to move, it didn’t hit me really hard that I was leaving for good until I was sitting in the airport waiting for my plane to be ready to be boarded.
This event has changed my life and myself in so many ways. I remember hating Arizona, the people, and my parents for making us move. After making some friends and getting used to the new environment, I started to like Arizona. Without the friends that I made and still making, I don’t think I would love living in Arizona as much as I do now. Learning and experiencing everything that I have the past four years, I have discovered so much about myself. I’m glad to have moved to Arizona because it also helped me realize who my real friends are from New Jersey. In Jersey, I had a lot of friends that all said that we would catch up, but ever since I moved, I only still keep in touch with eight of them. Moving has been a great turning point in my life and I don’t regret it.
